GREEN PUMPING
We have concrete pumps in our fleet which meet EURO 4 & EURO 5 emmission standards which means that there is significantly less pollution from our trucks entering the environment. These trucks are able to work inside semi-enclosed areas with no risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
This is not only great for the environment but also the workers onsite working in close proximity to the concrete pump. Occupational Health and Safety is paramount in today’s working environment and trucks which meet EURO 4 & EURO 5 emmission standards are leading the way in reducing the toxins into the air that we all breathe.
ENVIRONMENTAL DISPOSAL
Concrete pumps are a clean way of getting concrete from Point A to Point B, but by the sheer design of a concrete pump there will always be concrete left over inside the hopper. In most cases the concrete is able to be disposed of onsite. For the rare occasions when there is no where to put the left over concrete from the pump we have a concrete recycling skip at our depot where we can dispose of the remaining concrete for a nominal charge.
The skip is collected by concrete recyclers where it is crushed and reused in numerous building materials. We believe that this service is not only benefits the environment it also assists the customer with mess free disposal of concrete.
In certain areas of Melbourne, builders can face huge fines from the council and the E.P.A. if concrete or slurry is found outside the building site. Our environmentally friendly disposal of concrete at our yard is a no mess no fuss option which can potentially save you thousands in fines and doesn’t draw any unwanted attention to your building site.
Organising A Concrete Pour
The organization of a concrete pour can be daunting and overwhelming at times. Our aim is to make this process as simple as possible and we have office staff with a vast amount of onsite experience who understand and can visualize your job site.
At Gateway we go that step further than other companies and can also organize your concrete for you at competitive prices from some of Melbourne’s largest concrete companies.
With one phone call you can book a pump, concrete and we can co-ordinate the whole pour which frees your time so that you are not spending half the day on the phone.
With our experience and expertise in the concrete industry we will make sure you’re your pour goes as smoothly as possible.
When you call up ask us for one of our "Stubby Holders" and we will make sure you receive one onsite with your next pump job.
There are two types of concrete pumps, Boom pumps and Line pumps. Boom pumps are the most efficient method of placing concrete given the correct site conditions. Boom pumps are a crane like pump which are required to setup the outrigger legs on firm and stable ground, the ground needs to be relatively flat and the boom needs room to open up and be free from obstructions like power lines and trees.
Line pumps are the most versatile type of concrete pump, they have a small footprint and can be setup on nearly any angle. They have numerous sized delivery lines which can be used for filling cavity walls to pumping bulk concrete into slabs and foundations. Line pumps can be used on numerous job sites where there is simply not enough room for a boom pump to setup. The type of jobs a line pump can do are endless. Our line pumps carry 80m Line on them and more pipe can be arranged for those jobs where you just need the concrete that little bit further.
